Oh, Canada!
Time for me to let go a little. And so, this vacation aka "break from work", I just want to enjoy every little bit with my baby (while she's still a baby) and S to cherish the long way that we have come together.
Enjoy the feeling of waking up in the morning with nothing to do, soak in the early morning sun in the balcony while Shreya points finger at cars calling it "caaa" and waving her hand "taa-taa" to any vehicle seen from there, endless hours at facebook catching up with buddies over chat, refreshing my nursery rhymes, luxuriate in long afternoon naps and spend hours in the lazy evening with S talking about anything and everything under the sun.
Well, our vacation in Canada was altogether a different experience both for me as well as S. We could spend so much time with each other, refreshing back our old memories and reliving our childhood as we watch Shreya grow. What could be more blissfull than this!
From what the baby centre website described as a poppy seed to a fiercely independent toddler now, it is nothing less than a wonder as we see her grow - each day.
Waking up in the morning and cuddling the little bundle, bright awake at the crack of dawn trying all her stunts.
Sipping a leisurely cup of "hubby-special" chai and watching the bright and active little bundle zip around the house on all fours with an indulgent eye, as the husband runs desperately trying to get ready for work on time, trying not to trip over the zippy little bundle himself. I really don't know which one I enjoy watching more.
Giving Shreya a feel better kissy as she watches her Daddy leave for work. Distracting her with a silly game and watching her cheer up.
Dancing on the tune of "dhinka-chikka" and "twinkle-twinkle" as Shreya entertains herself with her breakfast.
A nice, long massage with warm olive oil, enjoying the feel of soft baby skin under my fingers and blowing raspberries on her tummy as she coos and giggles in delight. Following this up with a relaxed, warm bath (that too in the bath tub) at the end of which both of us are ready to embrace the land of nod.
Catching up with Shreya's grandparents over video-conference as they excitedly wants to see her same stunts/actions everyday.
Trying a new recipe and watching Shreya relish it to the last lick and feeling her nicely rounded baby tummy.
Time for some rhymes and who best can help us other than "You-tube". Or catching up with L masi and C dada over video-conference.
Cradling Shreya in the crook of my arm and rocking her to sleep, watching her eyes close as she nestles against me looking blissfully content.
Momma's time for nap (again?) with an excitement that Pappa would be back by the time we are awake.
Being there for all those precious firsts: the first time Shreya showed her interest to learn new things on being taught, first time she happily flaunted her teeth when asked to, the first time she learned to show "twinkle-twinkle", first time she signed to be ready-for-potty-training (yes, we are on potty training), first time she showed her budding sense of self identity and pointed to herself when asked "Where's Shreya?", the first time she learned to clap, the first wave of "taa-taa".
