My pumpkin turned one!

And there she is 1.

Life flies by so fast.
Almost seems like yesterday when Shreya was born to us and already her age will be referred to in years instead of days/weeks/months. Already I am a mommy of a toddler instead of a newborn or an infant. Already I am an expert in mommy hood by surviving baby's first year :-)
Shreya, in your little way, you are just so perfect. That innocence in your eyes, your affectionate ways, your faith in us, your lavish smiles, your coolness factor! You are the best of both of us and even more.

Darling, we love you.
May you always find happiness and success in all that you do.
A hap-happy birthday to you.
Love and blessings,
Mamma & Papa

Yes, that's right. My little baby is now one-year old.
We celebrated her first birthday last week and my baby is no longer officially a baby. *sniff*

Our initial birthday plan was to celebrate it grandly in Bangalore with friends, family and office buddies. Mostly because we haven't thrown any party in Bangalore on behalf of Shreya thinking that what could be a better occasion than this. But all plans changed drastically with S leaving for Canada and we joining him later on. Then our plan was to have a quiet celebration with just-three-of-us with a weekend trip. Weather forecast changed it all. With not many friends over here and climate not very favourable, we finally decided for a simple cake-cutting at home followed by some shopping and dinner. But dear Papa would not hear - his princess need to have a gala birthday party with presents, balloons, food and cake. That, combined with the fact that me and Shreya will get a chance to meet his office colleagues, we changed our mind and booked a venue (Hotel named "The Host") for the party.
It was a nice afternoon with friends and family. Kids too had fun time and I happily handed over Shreya to the bachha party who were excited to babysit her. Food, food and food rest of the afternoon..starting with the birthday cake, chat (pani puri, bhel puri, papri chat). Next comes the appetizer with fish amritsari and veg samosa. Pasta and noodles kept the kids happy. Main course includes 3 varieties of rice, meat and lamb for non-veg section. Chole, Baingan patiala, Spinach paneer and veg kolapuri for the veg section. Shreya too treated herself with her cake, hot gulab jamun, rice pudding and ice-cream. Needless to say, she was super active through-out the evening with all those sugar intake. All in all, Shreya was pretty rocking throughout the party...a beautiful ending of an awesome year.
