Chotta-bheem and cupcakes and celebartions

I am back.
Yes, I really am!
No excuses. No explanations. Just busybee with parents and festivals etc etc.

Some of you are still around to read this, I hope. If you are, then yayy!
If not, then I shall build and you shall come and we shall all drink and make merry.
Whee!

So here comes the much awaited Shreya's birthday post ****drumroll plizzzz****

Since it was just me and Shreya on her birthday, I decided to keep is quite and simple.
Ordered her fav chocolate cake and decorated the house with balloons and cut-outs (highlight being the "chootta Bheem' poster) the previous night.
Early in the morning, much before she usually wakes up, I woke up to make all the preparation for the cake cutting planned with her Pappa over video conference. Thanks to Skype :)))
All the decorations were checked and re-checked and then we (me and Shreya's nanny) woke her up by singing "happy birthday". She opened her eyes, surprised and then flopped back onto a pile of pillows, dizzy with excitement. She knew that it was a special day and it was her birthday :)))
I took the day off and it was fun to spend each and every waking minute with her, cutting cake and some video conferencing with Pappa and her grandparents, spending a lazy morning giggling and dancing and blowing bubbles. Evening saw us in her fav indoor soft play area. It was bright, colourful and happy and we had a blast for close to 2 hrs. Shreya's mistimami is a sweetheart and came over to meet Shreya, even on a bad rainy traffic-y evening, with loads of gifts. So all in all, it was a quite day accommodating all the activities that she likes to do. Amidst all these activities, the day was flooded with phone calls from loved ones, some of which has been responded well back by Shreya and some were attended by me on behalf of her.

After my parents came, we decided to arrange a small get-together with Shreya's friend in order to celebrate her birthday. Me and S are not a great fan of lavish birthday parties for kids and prefer simple do-it-at-home affairs where you would plan the party yourself and get involved in each and every activities associated with it, starting from planning to decoration to baking to preparing food.
The food for the kids was made by a lovely lady who caters to birthday parties and any such personal parties. She makes most of the stuff at home and it was gorgeous! Most of all the kids loved it. We had mini veggie burgers, jelly cups, pinwheel cheese sandwiches, fresh potato chips and juice.

For decorations we had red, yellow and green balloons and chotta-bheem and gang cut-outs hanging from the ceiling and kids music to peep them up. Birthday cake too was made to the theme. In terms of taste the cake wasn't out of the world but the cake looked great and matched my theme!

Cake cutting happened in much halla-bol where the bachha-party started tasting the cake even before cutting. Close family members stayed back uptil dinner which was solely prepared by my Mom and it was awesome to say the least.

The return gift was the much-crazed angry-bird back-to-school accessories which was much adored by the kids.
