Canada highlights

I'm here since last couple of weeks and I must admit that I am in LOVE.
Unlike last year when we stayed in Mississuaga which is some half an hour drive from Toronto, this time we stay bang on Toronto downtown where everything's always on the move with the hustle bustle of people yet the serenity of the neighbourhood is absolutely die-for. Last month we did a lot of the usual touristy things, explored the neighbourhood, saw the snowfall (it was first for me as well as Shreya), walked a lot to feel the hub-bub of downtown, took subway, rode streetcar, went to central park, theatre, mall-hopping etc etc. The weather is getting better with each day and we can't wait for spring to kick-start our visits to other cities.

Amidst all these, highlights from Shreya is that she started her school on 29th Apr at Queen Victoria School. It would be an understatement to say that we are super impressed with the school, their techniques, staffs, quality of snacks, their set of activities, their huge gym area (an indoor play area for the kids), awesome outdoor play area, huge library etc etc. And this is evident from all the fun that this lady is having ever since.

Day 1: Shreya with Ms. Clair (her class teacher) singing a cow-boy song:

Another one at the outdoor park on the same day:

Day 2: Story telling session at a neighbourhood park

Ambience was perfect, a mini-garden in itself and super weather to add to the comfort.
While the kids enjoyed the story-telling session, I bonded with the other moms swaying gently on the swing and sipping hot coffee.

All in all, life is beautiful...touch wood. And I have to admit that Shreya impressed me again with her independence and social-skill. While I am still trying to adapt to the new culture and people, she was comfortable in the environment right from the first day.
I hope she enjoys her new school and friends in the same way always.
